British Museum

'A History of the World' is a unique collaboration between the BBC and The British Museum. The project is based around a 100 object collection at The British Museum, with a BBC-wide initiative including TV, radio, interactive and digital.

The brand was designed to work across all these spaces, engage diverse audiences, and help visually explain the project. To reflect the timespan of the objects, the logo evolves seamlessly through early serif typography through to modern sans serif faces. Tints are applied to the objects, which allow them to sit together more coherently and create a visual shorthand for the project.
